Dr Shane Bryans, while working for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has participated in a number of visits to prisons to provide advice and recommendations for prison authorities. These recommendations are confidential and only given to the prison director and prison headquarters, in accordance with ICRC working modalities.
Dr Bryans has also held meetings with at Director General level in the Ministry of Justice to discuss criminal policy and options for reducing the level of overcrowding in the prison system. Training for prison directors has been taken place a number of ties during the year. .
